We welcome all participants in the Bellingham area! We hold practices in Bellingham and participate in regional, state and national competitions sponsored by Special Olympics. The practices and competitions are focused on learning about sports, learning new skills and improving overall general fitness. Benefits include meeting new friends, having fun and learning skills that can last a lifetime!

The Special Olympics program was developed for athletes with disabilities. Athletes of all ability levels are encouraged to participate and every athlete is recognized for his or her performance. Competitions are structured so that athletes compete with other athletes of similar ability in fair divisions. If an individual is 8 years of age and on an Individual Education Plan (IEP), then that individual is eligible for Special Olympics. There are other cases in which an individual is eligible as well. Sports we currently offer are Swimming (Spring), Soccer (Spring), T-ball and Softball (Summer), Bowling and Flag Football (Fall), Basketball (Winter), and Cheer (year round).
